Forem is an open-source project created by the team at DEV.to to build a better platform for community discussion. Ruby on Rails and Bootstrap powers Forem, and it is designed to be highly customizable. The Forem project is released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 license, anyone can use it.
We have been running blogs on a different platform for quite a while,
- We are using WordPress for our tech blog.
- We are using Ghost for our travel and tourism website
- We are using static site generator tools, Hugo, to host our theme project.
All of them are super awesome and serve the purpose.
But why again another blogging platform? What is the purpose of this?
We chose Forem because we believe it is the best platform for creating a community-driven blogging platform. We cannot accomplish so far with any of the blogging platforms we mentioned above. Forem has all of the features that we need to run a community, and it is straightforward to customize. In addition, the Forem project is released under an open-source license; and we love OpenSource :)

Our goal is to provide advice and support for people who are just starting out in their IT careers. We're active on both TikTok and YouTube, and we're always looking for new ways to engage with our community.
