American Coastal is a concentrated Florida commercial property insurer with excellent recent combined ratios, fast book-value growth, and a fresh catastrophe-bond layer. The hard part is that nearly every attractive metric depends on hurricane losses, reinsurance availability, ratings, regulators, and underwriting discipline in a softening market.
