An 8 Port FXS Gateway is a device that converts analog voice signals from phones or fax machines into digital VoIP signals and vice versa. The FXS (Foreign Exchange Subscriber) ports provide the interface to connect analog devices to an IP network.
Unlike FXO gateways, which connect your analog lines to the PSTN, FXS gateways connect the phones themselves, enabling them to operate within a VoIP system. Essentially, it acts as a bridge between your old analog hardware and modern IP telephony.
