An Analog VoIP Gateway is a hardware device that connects analog devices—like telephones and fax machines—to digital VoIP networks. It serves as a bridge between the traditional Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and IP-based telephony systems.
These gateways typically come in two types:
FXS (Foreign Exchange Subscriber) Gateways – Connect analog phones or fax machines to a VoIP network.
**FXO (Foreign Exchange Office) Gateways – **Connect VoIP systems to the PSTN or analog PBX.
For example, a 4 FXS Port VoIP Gateway allows four analog phones to connect to a VoIP network. Similarly, an 8 FXO Gateway enables connection to eight PSTN lines for outbound or inbound calls using VoIP.
